Initial MVP Release

We are excited to launch the first public release of the Open Graph Image Generator! This release provides a high-performance, developer-first image generation service operating across global Cloudflare edge workers with zero mandatory registration or tracking.

Core Capabilities

• 6 Built-in Production Templates:

  • minimal: High-contrast typographic title and domain layout with optional logo.
  • article: Editorial card featuring author avatar, name, estimated read time, and publish date.
  • product: E-commerce card with price, currency, availability badge, and product screenshot.
  • profile: Personal and speaker badge with bio, author handle, and square avatar.
  • announcement: Event card with tag badge, date, location, and call to action.
  • docs: Technical documentation card with section hierarchy, page title, and breadcrumb.

• Edge Rendering Engine:

  • Lightweight Satori SVG engine running directly within Cloudflare Worker memory.
  • HarfBuzz text shaping with native font subsetting.
  • Three bundled, high-legibility type families: Inter (400, 600, 700), JetBrains Mono (400, 700), and Source Serif 4 (400, 700).

• Multi-Layer Caching & Persistence:

  • Global Cloudflare edge cache with 7-day browser cache headers (Cache-Control: public, max-age=604800, stale-while-revalidate=86400).
  • Cloudflare R2 bucket storage ensuring cache hits are served with minimal latency and zero repeated compute.
  • Deterministic SHA-256 parameter hashing for reliable cache resolution and cache busting.

• SSRF Defense & Security Isolation:

  • Private IPv4, IPv6, loopback, link-local, and cloud metadata (169.254.169.254) blocking.
  • Strict 2 MB maximum asset payload and 5-second fetch timeout.
  • In-memory SVG rasterization via resvg-wasm with script execution disabled.

• Interactive Developer Tools:

  • In-browser Playground with live preview, preset switching, debounced URL parameters, and direct copyable code snippets in cURL, HTML, Next.js, Nuxt, Astro, and SvelteKit.
  • Open Graph Metadata Inspector to validate HTML meta tags across live URLs.
  • Image URL Inspector with dimensions verification, aspect ratio checks, and edge cache diagnostics.

• Privacy-First Architecture:

  • Completely anonymous generation during MVP without accounts or credit cards.
  • Transient cryptographic salted IP hashing for rate limiting (60 req/min, 1,000 req/day) with zero storage of raw IP addresses.
  • Demand interest roadmap system with Cloudflare Turnstile bot protection and single anonymous aggregate counters in Cloudflare D1.
